Yarn: super bulky (#6) chenille or plush yarn — any brand. That chunky, squeezable look is the whole point of her; she comes out more plushie than stiff amigurumi.
Hook: 5 mm.
Also needed: fiberfill, 14 mm safety eyes, black and white cotton yarn for the face, stitch markers, yarn needle.
Finished size: about 12 cm / 4.7 in — dumpling and steamer together. Desk-sized, shelf-sized.
Time to make: an evening.

Don't have the exact yarn the photos use? It still works. The pattern has four built-in "stop and check the fit" checkpoints, each with instructions for adding an increase round or one to two extra rounds if the dumpling isn't sitting right.
